How to enjoy Disneyland in the rain! (it’s actually more fun than you think)
Wear a poncho – Ponchos are a life saver when it’s raining. Ponchos are sold at many stores inside the theme parks. But you can save money and buy one at Target or Walmart before your trip.
Hit the indoor rides – Skip the outdoor rides and visit rides like Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, The Haunted Mansion, Finding Nemo, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Soarin Over California and Tower of Terror are just a few.
See the shows – Watch the Aladdin Musical! The 45 minute indoor show is at the Hyperion Theater in Disney California Adventure and will keep you out of the rain. Also, Captain EO is back and playing in Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park.
Dine Inside – On rainy days some of the restaurants are worth checking out like Ariel’s Grotto, Blue Bayou, or Red Rockets Pizza Port.
Ride the water rides! – You’re already wet. And when it’s raining, the lines at the water rides are usually nonexistent (if they are open).
Visit the Grand Californian Hotel – in the lobby of the hotel you can warm up by the fireplace in the cozy oversized chairs or you can sit on the ledge around the fireplace. Sometimes there is a piano player to listen to.
Relax! – Yes, you are going to wet. It’s raining. But those are the happiest raindrops on earth. Allow yourself to get a little wet and enjoy the fast lines and smaller crowds.
