Tips & Other Information

Disneyland Resort®

We used to call it just Disneyland!  Now it is called the Disneyland Resort®.  That's because there are now two theme parks.  Disneyland is Disney's first theme park and Disney California Adventure theme park that opened in early 2001.  It requires separate admission unless you have a Hopper pass.

Disneyland Resort also includes Downtown Disney which is an outdoor shopping and dining area that is adjacent to the parks.   Admission to Downtown Disney is free.

There are usually three "seasons" each year at the Disneyland Resort®.
  1. Value Season is approximately Jan, Feb, the last three weeks of Oct, first three weeks of Nov and first three weeks of Dec.  It is the least expensive, and least crowded time to go to Disneyland Resort.
  2. Regular Season is the months of March-June (excluding Spring Break weeks in April) and last week of August-the first week of October.  This time is average priced and moderately crowded.
  3. Peak Season is the most expensive and the most crowded time of year.  This is roughly mid-April, July, first three weeks of August, and dates around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.
